I am hardly the person to pass a comment related to cricket, or a cricket player for that matter, but who will stop me? Based on my limited viewing of the IPL, Gautam Gambhir comes across as one of those tens of morons I have known in my life who have the utmost faith in working hard. Such people do everything the right way, but never actually use their brains. They are extremely capable, but still settle for a very mediocre existence, while people far less capable achieve a lot more because they are smart, lucky or have contacts.

To each his own, but still, this does manage to sound like a jump, rather a leap of faith, to a conclusion
uprfront, i am a big fan of gambhir, especially after seeing live (at the ground) two brilliant innings by him in the last two matches
i have no idea why he merits your derision in this manner, i think between him and rohit sharma, they are the future of indian batting, i can't wait till gambhir and sehwag start opening on a regular basis for india. both of them having shown how good and consistent they are in IPL, would now be constants in the team for sure (especially under dhoni who is all for youth)
he is 26, he is reaching his prime and is well-positioned to make it big - i would reserve judgement until, say he is 30 or something, or lets even wait for next year's signings, am sure he'll make millions
i wouldn't say he is the most cerebral of cricketers, but man he's brilliant
I should make baseless statements more often, if it elicits a response from celebrity guests :D
I won't try and justify my statement because it has none. I truly believe that he is an amazing batsman, and have believed that from the time he started playing for Delhi and I saw his name with striking regularity in the papers there. So no contention there.
